When working on Heavenly Sword I was responsible for various effects.
My largest role involved me creating the combat effects seen throughout the game. This included all sword trails, blood sprays, hit, stagger and block effects as well as the combat "telegraphing" effect. I worked on all effects for boss fights and the Nariko "deity" effect.
I was responsible for character and physics interaction effects, including footstep effects, water interaction and object collision/destruction effects.
I created explosions and worked with the cinematics team for some cut scenes.
These roles saw me using in-house particle editing tools as well as xml and lua script editors as well as Photoshop for sprite texture creation.
